I seriously cannot believe Easter is this weekend. Where is the time going? I feel like every time I look up, it is a month later than the last time I checked. I guess that is my fault as I keep myself super busy. Anyways, I know Easter is this weekend so you might already have an Easter dress ironed and ready to go, but I had to take a minute to share this lace number from Nordstrom with you all! This dress is definitely going to be my pick for the weekend, but it is also perfect for those spring/summer weddings you might have on the calendar. I obviously love the blush color (duh!), but the fit and the lace are perfect!
As we get closer to Christmas, I can always feel my stress level rising. It is subtle, but it is like my heart beats a little bit faster during the holidays. I went to the doctor yesterday and the nurse said my blood pressure was a little high (not unusually high, I double checked) and asked me, "do you have a lot going on right now, or are you stressed?" AM. I. STRESSED. That is the question that I CONSTANTLY ask myself. Usually the answer is yes. To be quite honest, I stress myself out all the time and sometimes for no reason. It is crazy but I can't help it! SO for this holiday season, I am doing my best to get rid of the STRESS. I want to be easy-going. I want to have time for myself and Jon Luke. I want to RELAX. And this is how I am going to do that.
Y'all, this week has been SO many things. Good things! But super busy. And don't get me wrong, I love being busy (as I have said before), but currently I am sitting on the couch in my sweat pants, with a glass of wine and I LOVE IT. I know I do this to myself and I tend to overcommit but I have always said I would rather be busy than bored. Well now, I think I would rather be bored than busy! It is just so nice to sit and relax. Can you really blame a girl?
One of the many reasons I love fall/winter is that I LOVE cozy sweaters. It is quite comical to look in my closet and see the amount of knitwear I have (considering where I live), but I just love them. The second reason I love fall/winter is that it means it is time for boots and booties. These Dee Keller booties are pretty much everything and I love been dying to wear them as often as I can! Thankfully, we have had some cooler temps the last two weeks and I tell you what, I am enjoying it. Being able to break out the sweaters/booties and cozy up by a fire is everything I want and more. I am just hoping these cooler days stay around!
It is funny, but my friends say that 'blush' is my statement color. And I have never been much of a pink person, but I would say I have to agree. There is something about a subtle blush tone that I absolutely adore. From dresses to sweaters, I cannot get enough. Currently I am shopping for a trip to New York and I have yet to purchase one thing blush which is SHOCKING! (And I really think I need to change that!) Anyways, I do truly love wearing blush, especially at the beach. So for our recent trip to 30A, this dress was perfect.
When shopping for formal dress options, I mainly look for versatile. I think it is important to find pieces that I can wear over and over, to multiple functions for a couple of reasons: 1. I need to save room in my closet and 2. I need to save money. I mean common sense right? But I can tell you that I am guilty of finding that trendy option that will be perfect for the wedding I have the second weekend of April, so the long sleeves wont be that bad because it will still be cool....Yeah but what happens when the wedding in the end of July rolls around? I have to buy a new one. So with that being said, when it comes to my dressier options, I try to make them work year round (or at least multiple times).
So true story about me, I love basic. Classic looks with denim and a tee shirt, or shorts and a tank. It is easy to me and fun and I love it. Growing up, I would find one or two tops that I loved (that were usually basic) and buy them in multiple colors so that I did not have to think about what I was going to wear. It was easy. As I have gotten older though, I have developed a love of getting uncomfortable with fashion. I like to try things that are different. I like to step out there, push the limits a little bit. I try to mix and match styles and where I shop, but now instead of looking for basics, I love finding items that have a slight edge. And in this case, it is bell sleeves.
Right now, my eye is drawn to just about anything blush. I did some online shopping last week and when I went to view my cart, every item but one was some sort of blush shade. I just love it though. It is pretty much serving as a neutral in my current wardrobe and I am completely okay with it. Gotta add a little color every now and then right?
It is no secret that I am crushing on blush shades right now. Even Jon Luke pointed out the other night that my "feed has a blush vibe to it." Yep, he's catching on. Anyways, I am not sure what it is about this shade of pink, but I LOVE it. And it is funny because growing up I was not a fan of pink AT ALL. But now, twenty six years later, it is all I want to wear. It is funny how things change, isn't it?
